It’s a quiet vacation week. We’ve been able to sit in the
conference room a couple times. The different environment in there has helped
our collaboration a lot, which is nice because we are all on one project now.
We’ve already made a lot of progress. Yesterday after lunch the PR interns and
the graphic interns split up. In PR we worked together to make efficient Google
docs everyone will work on and then split up the 50 states among ourselves. We
each have five states. It’s a good system because we’re each only here for
three days each week and we can easily redistribute work among those who are
present on any given day.
Ron keeps telling us to “play chess backwards.” We have to
specify our end goal, then what we will have to do before that, then before that,
and so on. It’s helped a lot. There’s more to the process of 50 than just
finding an email address. One thing in particular is that we need to have a lot
of specific templates that are “casual” but carefully structured. This is
especially important when reaching out to bands because unsigned musicians are
very wary of unsolicited offers. We need to make sure they know we won’t take
advantage of them. It’s easy to create content that details how the artists
will still own their songs and that it will be free and son on but we need to
come across as genuine quickly so that they don’t just delete the email without
really reading it.
As much as I love the AC in here, it’s time for me to go on
vacation next week. I can’t wait to feel the sun!
I hope everyone has an awesome day!
