Yesterday after lunch we really started working on Project 50. We separated into PR and Graphics interns. In the PR room we worked collectively to create and organize what needed to be done to achieve the goals of this project. We created 2 new google docs so that we could all share our work easily. One google doc for collecting bands and one for collecting bullying stories. We then listed all 50 states on each document and assigned each intern 5 states. Each intern is responsible for collecting potential bands and bullying stories for all 5 of their states. Once we have finished collecting a decent amount of prospective options we will then be able to contact them. When it comes time to contact we will face a bundle of more issues. We need to think of a way to reach bands without sounding like a scam or "too good to be true". We will also probably be faced with a lot of rejection and may even have to go back to collecting more bands.
It's a good, challenging, and fun experience to be placed in a room and handed an assignment that basically has nothing but the end goal. We became responsible for planning and executing this entire project. There are around 12 of us working together on the PR team. We seem to work well together so far and everyone is good at giving input and sharing ideas. It was nice to be working with all of the interns on the same project and it gave us a chance to learn more about one another. Today after lunch I think we will get back to researching and collecting more potential clients for this project. It is great to get experience working in a team environment...especially with such a big team because it exposes us to working with many different personalities. I look forward to continuing on this project!
I hope every has an awesome 4th of July. I know I will! It's one of my favorite holidays :)
