Posters and WAAF

For once I remembered to post on time!!!  Well ok, uh ... today I worked on posters since there were only 3 interns (all design interns) and we were not actually told anything specific to do.  I also listened to WAAF for most of the day.  Time to drive home and listen to WAAF while I probably sit in a lot of traffic on 128 and the pike.

See you all Wednesday (talking to you PR interns),

Raiders of the last Esente

Today was a day of design and coffee. So far I've been going between 3 new posters I'm working on. Ron wants me to move away from my illustrations and work on my design side. I'm going to start doing fan art of Jayna for Ron so that'll be a new adventure!

America

Today at Esente we scheduled a few phone calls with some bands who wanted to get a little bit more information on the project. At lunch I watched USA lose to Germany but advance anyway, which made me like soccer a little bit more. We are proud to say Melissa was choosen to go in Rons closet and record a voiceover for the video. This is a victory for all of the interns.

-Dillon

It's All A Waiting Game...

Today, I responded to any of the musicians that had questions or were looking to set up a phone appointment. The phone call we had scheduled today ended up being cancelled and rescheduled to Tuesday. I also sent out Facebook messages to nine more artists. Hopefully by the end of next week, I will have all the second contact Facebook messages sent out. Next week we have to start looking for more bands to fill spots on the album. Other than that, we need to send out a fourth contact and wait for more responses. It will be interesting to see where this project goes as we get more bands on board.

Too few checkmarks on this bad boy...
Hello Music Lovers,

Today at Esente we all worked on our game plan for the next four days, during which we will begin our advertising campaigns on Craigslist. We will also begin our press releases during the upcoming week in an effort to attract more bands. Also, stay tuned for updates on Melissa's promising new career as a voice over artist! Keep on keepin' on and stay Frendly folks!

Calf Master

Today, I sent out the second messages to some of the Facebook pages. Along with this I responded to the emails we have gotten that have not been replied to. Tomorrow, we'll be able to work on finishing the draft for the press release so that we can start sending out to newspapers and radio stations.
-Stephen, PR Intern

Stalking the secret menu

Today at Esente I learned that most restaurants have a secret menu and they're all available online. I am eager to go try this at Starbucks LOL. Aside from the secret menu Ron taught us more about crowd funding and how we should go about attracting different audiences to join our cause. I also got to test out doing a voice over for our upcoming promotional video. Finally we wrapped up the day finishing up sending emails to the bands and calling the ones that had specific questions.

Leg Day !!!

Today we made third round emails and calls to the bands that will be featured on the digital CD. The call list is done with the exception of 2 call which will be made tomorrow. We discussed ideas for crowd-funding to raise money for the project. We had a great morning meeting where we had the opportunity to learn about the real world! We also discovered that Ron has massive calves and has been hustling gym juice heads for years. It was a great day at Esente.

-Dillon

Who knew Oatmeal was the key to getting hard calves?

We had a very long "intern meeting" this morning that was an excuse not to do work in the morning.  During that meeting we learned that Ron has very hard calves.  Speaking of legs I learned yesterday that I have tendonitis in my right hamstring.  Ok so back on topic, after lunch I worked on my holiday poster some more while the PR interns were calling a few of the bands.

-Matt Bell

PS: Ron said we would go to DQ and a psychic today however that ended up not happening.

I Need More Coffee

Today we had a great group meeting with Ron. We are learning life lessons everyday that will prepare us for our future and career in the workforce. We worked on contacting people through the phone and sending emails again. Seems relentless but it they are essential steps for the project. We also are brainstorming for the crowdfunding site.

Longing For Sunshine

So close, yet so far
Hello Music Lovers,

Today at 3 Broadway the group set about following up on our contact emails from yesterday, as well as scheduling and making a few of our contact phone calls. The weekend is almost here, but for now a nice sit outside on the deck to soak up a little bit of this glorious sunshine will keep me going for now. Looking forward to coming in and getting down to finishing up these phone calls and the last few contacts. Keep on keepin' on folks

The Count of Monte Esente

Today we had a two hour meeting which taught us about how we will be perceived as well as the facts of life. But most importantly, we learned how to get the perfect calf muscles using an oatmeal poultice to bring out that sweet swell. We checked the emails and found that we had two other bands agree to join the "Twelve Pack of Life" campaign.

Late blog post

So I forgot to post to the blog on monday ... On monday we worked on the christmas posters for most of the time.  After lunch we had a critique of the posters and then went back to editing them.  The poster I worked on was a christmas tree with bottles of alcohol piled up around the tree and bottle caps with a skull and crossbones on them as the tree decorations.

Flight of the Esentes

Today we continued working on the third emails. However, the facts stated by Melissa were truly profound and reached into my soul. I've never heard such profound phrases such as "whatever you do shall be..." and "there are like millions of pyramids.." The statements are striking and only the ancient hebrew word השכלה‎ can describe the extent of her statements. In other news we worked on the Christmas posters at the end of the day.

There are like a million Pyramids

The first half of the day I spent working on a press release for the 12 pack of life project. It was interesting researching the different formats for press releases. I've sent my first draft to Ron and I'll continue working on it tomorrow. I know that it needs a lot more information in order to make the story interesting. After lunch, I worked on sending out the first messages to all the bands with reverb nation. As of now, all of the first emails, Facebook messages, and reverb nation messages have been sent. As the week continues, we'll keep sending emails in order to get enough bands for each state.
-Stephen, PR Intern

The Question Is, What is The Answer?

Hello Music Lovers,

Today in sunny Beverly we went about creating a third contact email to reach out to those bands that have yet to respond. We also spent some time answering some more questions sent to us by artists. The group continues to have a blast together, using laughter and jokes to keep us from succumbing to the (occasionally) dull task of sending emails. Keep on keepin' on folks.

Day Eleven

Today I printed and framed some pictures for Ron. Also I am working on revamping the craigslist ad for Esente. Each day I am growing as a designer and learning so much! Heres's some work from today:

Busting Chops

Today we sent out third replies to all the bands. Some were simple thank you's and in other emails we had to answer specific questions about the project. I spent most of the day making a call list for the bands that need to talk to us. Tomorrow we have 8 phone appointments set up throughout the day. Most of these people just need to hear a voice so that they know our project isn't a scam.

-Dillon

"Theres 110% More Life Than Us " - Bogel

Today we sent out our 3rd emails to the bands we have not heard from. We also got some more confirmed band. Vermont is finished and the others are on their way. It is nice to see our hard work come together. We worked as a group today and then split into individual work. I finished my tomb lights posters and attached it. I added snow because the tombs were not grounded. The snow also relates to the christmas theme and get incorporated into the design.

Poster Critique

Today as interns we went through the list of emails that we received over the weekend. We tallied but our yes's and no's. After that we were able to spend a decent amount of time working on our posters. After lunch we did a midway critique of the posters we have come up with. The ideas came from the pr interns and we are using our skills to come up with the visuals. The critique reminded me of school and the class critiques we do. It is good to see where we are and what we can do to help each others work improve. I have attached my design of the tombstones with christmas lights.

Ryan - GD

An esente to remember

Today we got to take a break from writing emails so we could return to working on Christmas Posters. We chose to work till lunch and, when met back up, we had a mini critique. This was definitely helpful and gave us all new ideas of where we could push our work.

Blogging From Home

I was SO busy at esente that I had no time to write my blog. Thats my dog Gracie... Anyway, today we replied to all the emails we have gotten back. I continued to send out Facebook messages to the bands that have no email contact. I enjoyed replying to the questions many of the bands had. It was refreshing to be able to send unique emails instead of filling out form emails. Hopefully we get more responses over the weekend so that we can move on with the project.

So Sensitive

The struggle has been real here with my barely functioning dell computer that has set my blog post back a day. However we are still continuing to send out 2nd emails and reserve spots for bands who have completely agreed to be apart of our project.  Today we also got to go in Ron's office and watch dog movies which I really enjoyed because I'm "so sensitive" LOL ( don't worry I didn't cry) . Here's a video of a dog being rescued from a underground pipe just in case you want to watch!

Is There Anything Better Than Solid Tunes?

Ready For Battle
Hello Music Lovers,

If you're like me, then music can change your mood for the entire day. Today I started with some Van Morrison and my day was excellent. Music can truly change your entire mood and helped me focus through the normally less-than-exciting work of sending confirmation emails to our bands. Our numbers of confirmed bands has steadily grown, with appointments to talk with other groups scheduled for later next week. Keep on keepin' on, and feel the positive vibes that only music can provide. Man.

There are 200 homeless people outside

Today we responded to more emails on our massive list. We decided to send thank you emails to everyone who had already agreed to work with us. Everyone has already been contacted twice and several spots our filled. We are getting closer to our final goal but we are definitely going to need more bands to sign up soon or we will end up using multiple songs from the bands who have already committed. After that we had a quick meeting in Ron's office where we discussed liberals and watched a video of a dog being rescued. Overall it was a good day!

The New Girl: Day 4: Paparazzi Paradise

I had a GREAT day today! Why?? because there were cameras and flashes everywhere...okay, maybe not everywhere but enough to make one feel pretty important. What more can a girl ask for in today's era of camera selfies, right?. :)
I swear if we were entertainers, athletes or anyone else who tends to get stalked by photographers on a daily basis, our mini photo shoot would have been a paparazzi paradise. We would have been bombarded seeing as though we were on the public streets of Beverly, MA. without security might I add (HA! kidding). We took pictures and videos for the company website which should turn out pretty awesome. The phrase "Thank You" will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day on the account that we had to keep repeating it to get the perfect take. We managed. I was in "photo-heaven" and loved every moment of it. Today was a good day!!

We Are Esente...

We'll Always Have Esente

Today was a day like no other we've had at Esente. It was filled with shooting photos, taking videos, and designing Christmas Posters. Its was truly an unforgettable day! What else did we do?....

Photo Shoot With A LOT Of Billowing

Aforementioned Mandatory Jumping Photo
Hello Music Lovers,

Today at 3 Broadway the interns continued organizing and contacting our bands for the second time, while Stephen "Crantastic" Richards continued to spearhead the social media campaign. The interns got to take field trip around the block and take some photos and film today to be used in our upcoming Kickstarter campaign video. We all had a little fun in the sun coordinating such classic shots as "The Stereotypical Jump Shot" and the "Walk in a Straight Line Looking at Nothing". It was a nice little break from the Arctic tundra that is this office. Looking forward to tomorrow and the weekend! Keep on keepin' on.

Smile for the Camera

Today was all about taking pictures.  We had a photo / video shoot for drunk driving prevention.  It was fun being able to do something outside of the office.  We also had to get pictures of people on different devices.  I was pictured using my laptop and my headphones.  Near the end we all took our pictures for the alumni page on the website.  Throughout the day we were also working on our holiday drunk driving prevention posters.  Oh and by the way in a pretty heated rant Ron said that it is very unlikely for bands to make something of themselves in the Music business.  I forget the exact number of unsuccessful bands that he mentioned however it was a large number.

-Matt Bell

12 Pack of Life Photoshoot

Today we continued sending follow up emails and worked on our posters. Other than that we had a great photo/video shoot for the crowd funding video page. All interns were in the video, we had cameos, group shots, candid shots, and all sorts of footage for the video. So now we are not only working on the project we are apart of the project. This was a good task because I am usually on the other side of the camera so this gave me a new perspective.

Indian PR goes to American Music Group for Internship- June 18th,2013

~ Your Sun,Moon and Stars got to be in line to make great things happen for you !

Today was one of the days when you feel everyone was so engrossed with work and excited for the photo shoot at the same time. I like how the day started with increase in  the number of response we received from the music Bands. Its a great sense of achievement when you are given feedback or response to what you are working so hard.

Moving ahead, the moment arrived when we all went out, in blistering heat and roaring windy climate, for the photo shoot. The idea behind the photo shoot is to spread awareness about "Never Drunk Drive" cause. We had group and solo moments romancing with the camera. It had different locations and concept  while pictures were being taken.

Post-lunch we all caught up for meeting with Ron, where we got the idea about what needs to be done for the next week. He also explained the competitive nature of music industry and what it takes to survive in the music business. While speaking to us, he used the above quote which inspired me to make it my thought of the day mentioned above. I agree to what he say, as success does come to you when you work hard, be passionate and dedicated to everything you want in life but if its not destined to be in your life, it never happens.

With this, I believe I am blessed to get the exposure and space to do whatever I like to do the most and only hope that destiny and luck plays it part for my success as I play my part of working hard and being dedicated and passionate to what I love the most.

I leave this blog with an optimistic thought, Sometimes you are not destined to get what you want the most but that does leave a hope (A benefit of doubt moment)  that may be something great and better is destined for you which would be just round the corner if you look for it! So keep learning and working hard and believe in your powers!!

Until next, love from Indian Girl,
Shivani Thakkar

Thank You

Today we finished the second round of emails where we followed up with every band that had already been contacted. We also spent some time outside taking pictures for a video we are putting together. Today was an interesting day at Esente. After an hour of intern modeling we got back to the ice box to work on the CD project. We also received a lot more responses today and the project is in better shape.
-Dillon

Day Nine

We got to do a photo shoot with all the interns today. We went outside and took some different shots.
It was nice to break away from emails upon emails and go outside to enjoy the great weather. Though it was a scorcher out there, overall it was a fun time. After that we just finished up working on the band emails and posters.

JULIET: WEDNESDAY JUNE 18/14

Today was very different at the office. We went outside and worked on a promotional film for the internship and the Never Drink and Drive campaign. There was a lot of smiling, posing, jumping, smiling, lining up, smiling, etc. It was kind of fun working on this, but I am glad it didn't take more than an hour. After the video shoot, we went on lunch break. Now we are just continuing our work on contacting the bands for the holiday CDs as well as working on the holiday season Never Drink and Drive posters. I definitely enjoy working on the ladder more than the former, but it was nice to get out of the office with everyone for a change.

The New Girl: Day 3: Frantic Fingers

EMAILS, EMAILS, AND MORE EMAILS....

My fingers are all a little sore from the multiple clicking and clacking on the keys of my keyboards. Specifically, the index finger (on both hands), that finger does most of the work.  Think about it- that finger hits most of the keys ( at least for me) and it has the most important job of them all which is to navigate the cursor to the top of the email page then click "send". Poor little guys.  Maybe I'll treat them ALL to a manicure and buy only the index finger's nice, shiny, rings because they worked so hard and had most of the responsibility. They'll get double- treated :).

Although my poor little fingers were in pain they helped me create and send out all the emails I needed to for today and I must admit today was a easy, straight-forward day. You have to just love Esente Music Group.

DAY 3 COMPLETE (WHEW!)

~Jatrissa

Citizen Esente

Today was mainly sending out follow up emails to the bands we haven't heard from. We had some time in the morning to work on the Christmas posters so I finished one and started on another as I reflected on the great wall of Italians and all they have contributed to America.

Fun day at Esente

Today, we worked on sending follow up emails to the bands that have not responded. My job was to contact bands that did not have websites via Facebook. Overall, the project got much more complicated over the past week. The fact that there are completely different interns here on mondays has made it difficult to organize. Because of this, we have created google docs as well as physical papers that map out where we are in the project. I'm looking forward to hearing back from some more bands!

Cheers, -Wendy

Today we followed up emailing the bands we would like to offer a position on the cd project. The 12 pack of life campaign is moving along on the horizontal express. We are basically casting our roads and waiting for a catch. Once we send all the invitation emails again we can go ahead and start the crowd funding video. This way we can go live with the crowd funding site. Other than sending these emails we had two good group meetings. Before that I spent my morning working on a christmas anti-drunk driving poster.

Fake Name Day

Today we put our heads down and got to work. We sent countless follow up emails to all the bands and received some more responses. We are not sure if we will reach the goal of 12 different bands per state but we got a little bit closer today. It was a productive day.

Color Coding: Pros and Cons

A Bunch of Goons
Hello Music Lovers,

On a painfully beautiful day, here at 3 Broadway the interns sat in the Arctic Lounge and developed our follow up emails for bands while Melissa, Stephen and I continued the organization of our forces to try and find our bands as quickly as possible. Melissa developed a good color coding system for tracking our progress, while expressing a deep hatred of the color green for some reason. The day has been productive and filled with a lot of laughs, not bad for a bunch of word smiths working with a few sketchers. Keep on keepin' on.

June 16

Today was a day that we started to go through the responses to the band emails however that did not last very long Ron then had us finish emailing the rest of the bands which took awhile.  Next we finished off the media lists and watched part of the Germany vs. Portugal world cup game around lunch.  Later on we worked on our holiday drunk driving prevention posters until the end of the day.

This is the poster I am currently working on and need a PR person to give a title quote for:

Day Seven

Every day I feel like I am learning something new and gaining great experience. Today we finished emailing the bands for the 12 Pack of Life CDs. Once we finished that we worked on the holiday drunk driving posters. Here's another poster I've been working on:

Indian PR goes to American Music Group For Internship - 12th June, 2014

" Youth is the Guardian of Prosperity" Don't Lose them due to drunk driving incident. Help me stop teenage drunk driving!

The above quote is one of the quote that I started my day with.

Today morning, arriving at the office on time I had the benefit of doing something on my on for the Jayna Lininger's website. Ron asked me to suggest quotes that I can get for Jayna's website regarding Never Drive Drunk campaign. It was quick 15 minutes of satisfaction I had, to be doing something without any guidelines. I came up 5 different quotes and hoping Ron likes them.

Finally, we started working on sending mails to the bands to get response from them to participate in the campaign. So each one us started with our own State (mine being Maine)  and made sure that emails were sent in right font, right alignment and prim prom structure.

The most interesting part of the day was how we all come together for Lunch. The American Interns (NOT BEING RACIST) tasted the home cooked Indian Lunch and it was nice to interact and learn new things about each of their culture and traditions!

For now, thats all for the day!

Until next, love from the Indian Girl.

Happy weekend.

The Baby's out of the Bag

We started sending out emails to bands today which went surprisingly fast considering the amount of time it took to get started. There were lots of obstacles that showed up just as we were about finalize the email. This was definitely frustrating for me, but I think it was a good lesson. Once we got started, however, we were able to finish our regions in no time at all. This part of the project will definitely be finished by the end of monday. Now its all a waiting game...

Copy.Paste,Send, Repeat

After a lot of meetings and drafts and writing and rewriting we FINALLY finished the email we are going to send to the bands. It took a lot of patience to not get frustrated but the baby is finally on the floor! Despite the minor set backs we ran into today trying to send out the emails it was a good reminder that when a project is time consuming or you run into obstacles you must remain patient and keep plunging forward. I'm looking forward to seeing the responses from the bands when I come in on Tuesday and figuring out the rest from there.

Have a wonderful weekend esenters !

~ Play A Game Which You Can Win ! or ~ Play A Game Which You Make the Rules !

Today during the meeting, Ron said the first quote mentioned above and it got me thinking, which of the quote makes better sense. With the stupid little analysis in my head , I realize there is always an option that one can chose. This made sense and was the learning of the day I believe for today.

Further on, the meeting got better where we learnt few new meaning and phrases in the Marketing world. One of them being " Throwing Spaghetti at the wall"! This means that when you market a product or services, you try to market it to as many as possible (i.e throwing as many Spaghetti possible at the wall) hoping that you would enough customers to get the ball rolling ( i.e hoping that enough spaghetti would stick to the wall to fill the wall completely) Moving ahead, we all discussed what the real goal is behind each media promotions i.e. TV or Radio or Newspaper.

Later we were asked to work the research work to finish the media list for our respective states. Post Lunch, we all were assigned to group for project by Ron that we would be handling next coming weeks for the summer. I am working with two other PR interns on Christmas Project for Jayna Lininger relating to Never Drive Drunk Cause. We were assigned work to think about what content do we want to put on the poster for the Christmas campaign. We were also asked to figure out the list of music manager in the country to request them to listen to Jayna Lininger's music talent. In this meeting with Ron, he said something worth remember, " As a PR, you need to think What can you sell to the person infront of you" that would benefit you and your company and manipulate things accordingly. I think this is where you decide whether you make the rules or you play the game which you are best at !

The day was filled with lot of work and exciting new projects which I believe needs a lot of research and work.

As I leave for the day, I let you ponder on today's quote - Play A Game Which You Can Win ! or ~ Play A Game Which You Make the Rules !  Which one do you chose?

The New Girl... Day 2

Less anxiety, less confusion, less catching up to do, how GREAT is that!!
Today was smooth sailing, emails have been compiled for news stations, news papers, and radio stations from different US regions. I had to tackle Vermont and Pittsburgh and within a few hours
I did just that. My assignment has been completed and I feel a sense of...not too sure what I feel a sense of but it feels good to complete any task (haha). Next week I will take on another NEW challenge. (btw if I use the word NEW it will always be capitalized, because I still am considered the NEW girl and I shall embrace that title) hahaha). Overall today was a great day! NEXT WEEK BRING IT ON!!!

East of the Susquehanna

Today, I continued finding media contacts for Philadelphia. It has been interesting leading this project along with two other interns. It has really made me take a step back and look at the big picture. Tomorrow, we'll be emailing the bands asking them to take part in this project. It will be tedious but I'm excited to hear back from them. On a side note, if anyone needs some craisins I got you.

Hello Music Lovers!

Today at 3 Broadway we branched out with Stephen, Melissa and I working with Ron on our invitation email to be sent out tomorrow to the bands for the 12 Pack of Life digital CD project. Starting tomorrow the baby is on the floor people, the project will be fully underway. Everybody also put in some serious time finishing the media contact lists for our upcoming press releases. The team is really coming together and beginning to mold into some sort of mega-person, bent on domination of Northeastern media outlets. Also, apparently Stephen shamelessly loves craisins. Like REALLY loves them....

Purple Drank

Today was another day that flew by at Esente. We had a lot of meetings to discuss the progress of our CD project and made a plan to get the emails sent out by Monday. Ron also showed us his "Wall of Great Italians" and gave us purple juice that is sugar and carb free lol.
The CD project calls for a lot of organization and planning. We needed to make sure every element of the media list was completed for each individual state and all contact information was accurate. Luckily there are 12 interns which makes it easier for us all to keep track of one individual state. The interns seem to be getting closer everyday, everyone is a team player and we are making a lot of progress as the summer goes on. Stay tuned for updates and progress!

Good Cop / Bad Cop

This is my last day of my second week at Esente.  At first we started to design holiday themed posters for Drunk Driving Prevention.  Next all of the interns were called into a meeting with Ron were we talked about things that were not related to any of the projects that we were working on.  Next we all took a tour of Ron's place down the hall.  He showed us his wall of fame of great Italians and we all had some grape "lollipop" juice.  Then we got back to work trying to finish up the media lists for the 12 Pack of Life project.  I finished up the Washington DC list which I was originally assigned and then moved on to Connecticut radio.  This was very interesting since I go to college at Quinnipiac in Hamden, CT and know 90% of the people I was getting contact info for from QU.

-Matt Bell

~Cant stop planting seeds~

Today we put together hundreds of emails of TV stations, Radio stations, newspapers, and magazines. Monday we will start emailing these contacts to help promote Jayna. We got the opportunity to visit Ron's apartment. After he made us purple drinks and showed us pictures of Italians we finished the contact list and finalized the email that we plan to send monday.
-Dillon

The Peddler's Daughter

Unexpected adventures are the best kind. I got to go with Jen, the OnPoint photographer, to a photoshoot for an Irish Pub, The Peddler's Daughter. Our goal was to take pictures of the place and the food for their website, which should launch soon. The owner's passion for his food was obvious, and I was thrilled to be apart of making his passions known. We were also able to taste (eat all of) some of the appetizers! SUCCESS. This was my first photoshoot, or anything photography related, and it was so exciting! Let it be known, I know nothing about tripods, photoshoots, cameras or anything like that really, but it was fun to try and learn on the fly. I also really appreciated the opportunity to go to a client and interact with them and their business.

When I got back to the office, major headway had taken place on the CD project. Media lists for the 12 different locations (which were started last week/ yesterday) were either completed or in the final stages. This means first contact with the bands will begin tomorrow, and I will back on Monday for the second wave.

The New Girl... Day 1

Starting out as the new kid on the block is never fun. As the "newbie" you have to learn new things quickly and efficiently to catch up to everyone else. Frustration grows and tends to evolve when the newbie has tons of questions and/or messes up on something. There's always a sense of panic when dealing with strangers, deadlines, assignments, and of course the BOSS!(YIKES!)....Luckily for me, being the new kid on the block here at Esente Music Group, my day was not filled with panic or aggravation, especially for my first day. I was given a mini speech of what is expected and the current progress being made by the other interns. I was given my part of the project, then I was on my way ready to research. I found a lot of potential interests and cant wait to contact them. Overall my co-interns (like co-workers except we are all interns...I think, lol)  are awesome, talented and down to earth individuals, and the workload is interesting and very doable. Tomorrow is a new day, and will be considered day 2 for this newbie.

Playing Chess Backwards

It's been another fun filled day of analogies and metaphors inspired by Ron. We are continuing to crank out the grunt work for the CD project we are working on. All we need to do is finish getting the media contacts from every state which includes TV stations, newspapers, and radio channels. Doing this all morning was rather dull but at the same time I think we are all eager to finish making the contact lists so we can send out the emails to tell everyone about our CDs. Today we also got to see Jayna's new Christmas album as well as the kick starter and Facebook fan pages for all the projects we have been working on. It's really cool to see all our projects come to life on the web and being able to say we were a part of creating it.

Take care folks!

Ideas for the Holiday Posters
Hello music lovers,

Taking inspiration from our sub-arctic office, the crew at 3 Broadway has begun work on a series of holiday themed drunk driving awareness posters. With everything from Grim Santa to Decorated Tombstones, the interns took a dark turn in the effort to make sure that families everywhere will have a safe holiday season. We also continued our media contact information list, prepping for the release of our Twelve Pack of Life album campaign later in the week. Keep on keepin' on folks, and spend some time outside Winter is only a few months away!

Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia (and the rest of Eastern PA)

The majority of my day was spent finding contact information for Philadelphia media outlets. Although it was a lot of busy work, it is an important step in the process. After lunch, Melissa, Zach and I were put in charge of the CD release project. I'm excited to be working on this project in particular because it is what I started with when I began at Esente. It will be nice to see a finished product at the end of the summer.

Poster Palooza

Today at Esente we are working on posters for anti-drunk driving. We are making posters for the 12 pack campaign and for Jayna's christmas album. We came up with ideas, titles, and images as a group of interns gd and pr together. It is always fun to work with the entire group, we can come up with tons of ideas and everyone has a different way of thinking so the ideas are always different.

Day Five

Today was the day to finish media lists for the Pick Up a 12 Pack of Life campaign. We are also finishing up the Never Drive Drunk posters. We are now working on refining these posters so they can be printed. The new project is similar to the drunk driving poster, but it focuses on the holidays/Christmas because drunk driving accidents happen more often during this time than any other time of year. Here are the three Never Drive Drunk posters I created:

Research Day

Today we put in a lot of dirty work. We have been organizing a list of contacts to reach out to in the future. This includes TV Stations, Newspapers, and Radio Stations. Later in the day we were assigned roles to help with the christmas CD. I am on a team that will work to reach out to music managers around the country.

Indian PR Intern goes to American Music Group for Internship- Day 4

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. - Confucius

Day 4 seemed like one of those days when God just planned everything perfect for you to go and work. Starting the day, train from Waltham Commuter Rail was ON TIME!!! and the next train from North station to Beverly was ON TIME TOOO !! And here's the interesting thing, "I FINALLY FIGURED MY WAY OUT TO BE ON TIME FOR OFFICE TOO !!!
So the day started happy and well.

Today at the meeting we were explained the whole strategy and PR planning for the promotions of "Never Drive Drunk" cause and also how we are implementing the strategy. So the first step for today was to go ahead with research work about existing print media, radio and others different medias in an around MAINE ( We were assigned these states). We started with radios and television channels research work. The whole day pretty much was spent working on this. Although, the research work was tiresome and cumbersome, I really enjoyed it as I could see the bigger picture of how this research work would lead to final outcome. The final outcome is worth the hard work !!!

What I really learnt today: People do business or work to gain something out of it and if one can manipulate ( the meaning of "Webster English Dictionary ";) as Ron says) to explain how everyone's benefitting from it, that business and work is definitely going to pay off !!

Well for now, I am going back to PhD research about existing media in Maine !

Until next, Love from the Indian Girl and enjoy your day!

Planting More Tomato Seeds . . . . .

We are "planting the tomato seeds in the project". In order for us to send press releases we need somewhere to send them to. This was part of todays task, we found television and radio stations to send press releases to. Everyone was assigned a city and we went at it. This is the grunt work for the project but it is apart of the foundation. Doing this work now will help in other projects as well. When we got go live with the crowdfunding site we can invite these contacts to donate as well. The project keeps moving along as we "play chess backwards".

Progress!

Still riding the momentum from last week, we took the next step in our CD campaign- crowd funding! We researched and honed in on the promotion of the crowd funding websites, this included researching TV, radio, newspaper and other media outlets. I have taken over this section for the Massachusetts CD, delving into the local and regional media. We are also moving forward in our marketing plan; the logo is finished, the first press release is written, and we plan to reach out to the bands in a few days. These are the days of less talking and more doing.

I have learned a lot about how to organize problems, turning one huge mountain of a project into a pile of molehills.

Katie Story: First Day

Hello, I'm Katie. I am entering my sophomore year at Pratt Institute in the fall, studying graphic design.  In the past I have employed my abilities in freelance web design, and I also create vector illustrations in Adobe Illustrators for fun. I am interested in the way visual elements can parallel complement aspects of sound and music, so I'm excited to work in music related design at Esente. I hope that by the end of the internship I will have a better understand of what that consists of, and a better idea of what I would like to do after college.

MONDAY JUNE 9/2014

Today was a very productive day, although it was a bit bland. Everyone who was present was assigned a state or region to work on for the "12 Pack of Life" campaign. Our job today was to collect media outlet resources, such as station or publication names, contacts, websites, and locations. This involved a lot of research, clicking, typing, retyping, copying, sighing, etc... It is nice to see what kind of brunt work comes behind the scenes of a project in motion. I've never been involved in the marketing aspect of a campaign, so I am happy I am getting to not only witness it now, but be a part of it. A couple of new interns came in today. I don't remember their names, but then again, I am new as well and have yet to remember more than 2 names (sorry :[ ) I am excited to see what we are going to work on tomorrow, and wondering if it will involve any graphic design.

Day Four

Today we took care of the nitty gritty. We are working on getting media lists for the twelve states involved in the Pick Up a 12 Pack of Life CDs we will be releasing soon. My job was to find TV stations, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, etc. for the New York City area. This will help us get information out about the CDs and also help promote Jayna Lininger.

Week 2 - Monday

Matt Bell again ... Today the interns are tasked with finding media information for our selected area.  This will be used for the press releases for the Drunk Driving prevention campaign Pick up a 12 Pack of life.  I was assigned to look at media for the Washington DC area.  First we started off looking for information about TV Stations, then Radio stations, Newspapers and finally Magazines.

Day 2 - Wednesday

Once again this is Matt posting my blog a day late.  I had my second day of the internship on wednesday.  Yesterday was a day devoted solely to Drunk Driving Prevention.  For the first few hours PR and Graphic Design interns (or Art interns as Ron calls us) were tasked with coming up with ideas for the Drunk Driving prevention posters and creating a few of them as well.  It was great that all of us get to interact and work on the same project because as Ron was saying, it is a great to learn a lot about things outside of your major or your certain internship title.  I was also lucky because my car spent 4 hours in the TD Bank parking lot and was not towed.  After lunch we all "individually" made our own description of the Pick up a 12 Pack of Life campaign.  We then came together to create a single description.  Next the Graphic Design interns were pulled into Ron's office to brainstorm and start creating logo ideas for the campaign which took us till the end of the day.

Indian PR intern goes to American Music Group for Internship- Day 3

~ Some experiences can only be learnt the hard way! ~

I started my day with rain and my love- hate relationships with Waltham Commuter Rail. As I wait for the train, thought of missing Ron's group meeting was killing my over enthusiastic energy for the rest of the day.

However, arrived approximately 10:30 a.m joining the group. It was the worst ride ever to work. The strongest decision that I made for the day was to NOT DEPEND ON WALTHAM COMMUTER RAIL AND FIGURE OUT A SECOND PLAN!!!!

Moving on, our first task for today was to come up with 5 posters with theme and ideas based on 'Never drive drunk'. It was interesting. What makes this experience so enduring is the fact that we have each others opinion which really opens my mind to accept  different perspectives and accept individualism even more.

On the lighter note, during the lunch we got chatty about knowing each other more. This led to culture difference talk and how we have diverse thinking to particular topic. Post lunch, we worked on fire engines departments research for Connecticut.

Finally the day ended with seeing Ron, as I hadn't seen him today, for the meeting.  He had lot of ideas for the next week and can't wait for it all to begin !!!

As I leave for now in couple of minutes, I leave this blog to give honest secret out - " Like Old wine, this JOB is only getting better with every passing day and moment!!!

Love from the Indian Girl and happy weekend !! :D

Doing Big Things at Esente

It's another rainy day here at Esente but fortunately it went by pretty fast. We spent the morning finalizing our best ideas for the drunk driving awareness posters and then handing them off to Juliet who is a fellow graphic intern. While it was a lot of work for her it she did a great job making our ideas come to life on photo shop. Its been fun working as a group and collaboratively coming up with creative ideas. We are all starting to really get to know each other and how we think individually. Although we don't always agree on minor details of how we should design a poster, we all are respectful of each other’s ideas and in the end discuss what the group feels would be the best choice. I'm enjoying all the hands on work we've been doing together and feel this while give me more experience for group projects in the real world.

Until next time esenters !

Rainy Day at Esente

Today, the interns worked together on finalizing five Stop Drunk Driving ads for Ron. We chose some of the best that we came up with and narrowed down a list of second choices. It was difficult to to make everyone happy when making these decisions but I think that is an important skill to learn. Next week, Ron says that we will pick up the pace and start making some progress on our projects. I'm excited to see what new tasks we'll have to do.

POSTERS POSTERS POSTERS POSTERS

Bad day to forget my snorkel...
Hello Music Lovers,

On this rainy day in Beverly, the group continued its production of anti-drunk driving posters. After some more debate, we've decided on nine final designs to be sketched and pitched to Ron. We cover a wide range of subjects and styles, from simple to data filled. We also made sure to emphasize the importance in designated drivers standing up and volunteering. Along poster design we continued to work on finding contacts for the Floorplan website. Stay dry and keep on keepin' on folks, forty minutes then home to my sister visiting from Seattle!

$ 2nd Day $

Today we started to bring our Drunk Driving Awareness posters to life. 5 have been completed in photoshop and a few more are almost ready for photoshop. We did some more work on the list of firefighters and made a great description of the kickstarter campaign. The PR interns lost another brave soldier today R.I.P.

 ~Hella Cool Day~
It was actually a very cold day today, but it also a very good follow up to an exciting first day of the internship. We began the day with creating more poster designs, and then we had a meeting about Ron's inventions. Within that meeting, everyone learned that I am hella obsessed with Paramore and that I can really help with figuring out fan club stuff. Then we worked for the rest of the afternoon on creating a press release. All in all, hella swag, hella cool, and now I am going to be hella gone from this building and on my way home.

PS - I really love my fellow PR interns
