The Machine

In our meeting today Ron told us that originality is over-rated. Much of what we see around us is the result of something else; it was "inspired" by another, or as Ron put it, "stolen." Music artists these days (particularly Pop artists) sound so similar, you'd think they were all the same person. The industry churns out songs that are carbon copies of other songs, which in turn, are copies of other songs. Ron also explained how Lady Gaga's quiet presence in the celebrity world was also another marketing ploy meant to make her "re-entrance" into the world all that more exciting. Having all these social media outlets manipulating information to suit their agendas seems a bit sinister to me, but I suppose the world has always been that way.

On the brighter side, we were given the day to design a logo for a company called "Virtual Tourscape." I'll be looking at the logos of similar companies as references for the design. I'm looking forward to the creative process.
