I don't have much to share. Yesterday I went on a photoshoot with Jenn to a pilates studio in Watertown just as I started blogging about how excited I was to have an artists meeting for the 50 project. Oh well, I got out of the office, played with some little kids, and got home about an hour and a half earlier than I would have normally, so not complaining! It was a little disappointing for my first excursion because I didn't really get to see the process at all because the studio had too many mirrors that could awkwardly display my lurking. They almost had me stand in as a model posing in different positions, but thank god the owners didn't follow through on that idea.
Besides that I'm happy that the interns are finally getting a chance to interact on a project that has components for all of us individually and in smaller groups. And on top of that, I'm ecstatic to have made many connections with artists in the past few weeks that want me to work on album art for them, which I think is the best expression of creativity there is (besides making the music itself). Not only do I get to work on several projects with different groups of people, but they all produce different genres! To break it down I have 4 artists: 2 rap groups, one with an edge in electronica, blues, and jazz, another solo producer for trap and house music, and John's metal band, My Missing Half! So much variety, it's almost overwhelming (but in the best way possible) I couldn't have done this better if I tried. Now comes the harder part, giving the artists what they want without their being able to express exactly what they want.
I ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE.
