We Can't Compete..

Today there was so much traffic on 128 I was going crazy. Once in a while I have minor road rage and traffic is definitely a trigger...but we (Gabriella and I carpool) eventually got here just in time. We started the morning like every morning, doing leads. Then around 10:30 Ron came in for an intern meeting and another wonderful inspirational speech. The main topic of the speech was how America and our government isn't going to help us get a job, we need to help ourselves. We can't compete with the guys with 30 years of experience in these industries, but we do have an edge over them. We know how to use social media sites and could probably figure out any type of technology given to us. THat seems to be the only advantage our generation has over the past. Every time we leave these meetings I feel more uncertain about what my future will be. I guess that isn't a bad thing though because it will make me think and help me realize what it is I really want to end up doing. When the meeting was over around 11:30 Ron went on a sales call and brought two of the other interns. Before he left he told John and I that he would talk to us when he got back to talk about a project that he had mentioned a few weeks ago with another intern, Kim. The only problem is none of us have really been here on the same days...Kim was sick and then John just left sick and then I'm going on vacation the next two weeks so getting this project done isn't looking good. If I can't do this project I will be sad, but I'll understand since I won't be here. Before John went home sick we talked about the three of us corresponding through email about the project if its okay with Ron.
Yesterday before I left I got a project that I did not get to finish about marketing for Salon & Beauty. It was actually a really fun project to do, I have been coming up with ideas of how Salons can market on social media sites. I really enjoy doing these things because our generation grew up on the computer and know how to utilize everything the Internet has to offer. It was fun coming up with new ideas and I'm excited to continue that today!
