This morning Ron briefed us more about the 50 Project. The project will take 50 bullying stories and 50 artists from 50 states and release an album that will raise anti-bullying awareness. Somehow the conversation drifted into how musicians are unable to perform very simple tasks and he told us some stories about his touring days with Jimmy Page and Motley Crue.
Tonight I am playing a show with Tall Boys in Providence, Rhode Island. This will be the first time I've been in Providence since the day I was born. It will be an exciting experience for me even if it's just for that reason. The show I'm really excited for is this Thursday (the 4th of July) where we will be playing on top of a flatbed in the Natick parade.
My internet research numbers were low today since I had some obscure towns in New Hampshire and most of the businesses didn't have websites. The intern meeting took up a lot of the morning also. As a PR person on the 50 Project I will be gathering contact information for bands in whichever states I am designated. I feel that I will have an advantage since I am in a band and I know how to avoid the artists seeing the emails as spam. Anything that I wouldn't read they won't read, so I have to customize and personalize each message.
The best part of the day was when Ron showed us how to make a "deadly" weapon out of a newspaper and duct tape. I'm not sure I would call it deadly but it could definitely work for self-defense and it could potentially hurt someone.
It was a quick week but I have a well-deserved mini vacation planned for the weekend and I could use some time off from the hectic schedule that I've been having the past few weeks. You stay classy Esente Interns!
