Happy Monday!
We got a new project today. We haven’t started Bullhorn yet
so it’s nice to have something other than leads and blog posts to do in the
meantime. We’ve all been assigned to the 50 project. We’re going to find 50
bands, one from each state, to donate a song to us for an anti-bullying
compilation. Once we’ve found the bands, we’ll find a child from each state to
give us a personal story about being bullied. It’s a lot of work but it’s a
great way to learn about communication and media. There will be a lot of press
releases involved. Ron talked to us about the way that newspapers work now. A
lot of them aren’t locally owned anymore and so the way they go about choosing
stories has changed from a few years ago. Knowing about that mechanism is key
in designing our approach to these outlets.
Time to expand my list of things that I have learned.
Newspapers may be down but they’re not out and we need to know how to market
with them.
I hope everyone has an awesome day! Go outside!
