Building a List, Building a Tour

Yesterday we started on our new list project, compiling contacts for high schools, middle schools, police departments, fire departments, hospitals, and superior officers' union (police).  These will be used to build Becca Levy a small tour of towns in Massachusetts where she can speak and/or perform.  The police dept, fire dept, hospital and union info is for soliciting financial support for the Right Now campaign, specifically the tour.  The high schools and middle schools are where she will be speaking/performing.  Of all the internet research we've done so far (not including leads for OnPoint), I think this will be the most useful.  Obviously the crowds will be smaller than at a baseball game and won't equal the circulation size of most newspapers, it will be more focused.  Instead of having Becca appear somewhere and hope that there are enough people of the right demographic to make it worth our time, this makes sure that everyone is of the desired demographic.  Best of all, they (students) don't have a choice.  They have to at least pretend to be listening to her.  I also think that for the students, hearing her sing/speak will seem more entertaining by comparison to algebra and Shakespeare.  If only Oasis had had a marketing campaign this targeted, Noel Gallagher could stop whining about how nobody bought their first album.
