Plug it In

In our afternoon meeting yesterday we discussed how to go about promoting the different anti-bullying YouTube videos we have made for Becca Levy. After spending some time looking into it I found that it really isn't all that hard to do on your own. I specifically looked on http://www.reelseo.com and found some helpful tips. They first recommend embedding the video onto your website because if you are getting the web traffic to start with you will probably be able to get them to watch the video there. Next they suggested using any social media and blogs to get friends and family involved, because this could really help spread the word.  Posting as a reply or comment on blogs of a relevant topic is a good way to promote to your own demographic. Since they are looking at those blogs anyway they may be inclined to check out the video you just posted as well. None of this information was really different than what we discussed in the meeting which really only reinforced our ideas.

A different approach that I thought was interesting was using QR codes to link directly to the video on YouTube from you smart phone. The only problem with this method is that it usually relies on a print source and we are doing digital promotions.
