The Didgeridoo's and Don'ts of cleaning a room

Sometimes when you work as an intern you are given true responsibilities, treated as any other employee, made to face the real world and come out of your comfort zone that you've grown so accustomed to in college. Some days, this is not the case, on these days you are given the same time-honored tasks that interns have been given for decades, usually involving activities of the laundry or coffee persuasion, and many times centered around a copy machine. On those days you are reminded that in the great outback of the office environment, you are naught but a tiny gnat on the back of a much greater beast, clinging on for life as the beast bucks and runs, hoping to survive each day just to start over again the next.

Luckily, this never happens at Esente. Whether its menial tasks such as mass emails, or dire missions like content writing for a nationally posted Craigslist ad, Esente interns are always vital to the company. Every day, we are greeted as full employees, and we are treated as such till we step out the door every afternoon. This means that we receive the respect of our colleagues, and Ron, our manager, but it also means that if we screw up, well, we're going to get the same amount of disappointment anyone else in this office would receive. No matter what the offense may amount to in the grand scheme of things, Ron's passion for success will drive this office, and it will come crashing down on those that get in the way. As long as you learn from those mistakes, the future will look bright. Today we got to really crack down on some important work, but we also learned from our mistakes, and I think that's a crucial part of an internship, and honestly one that not many interns experience.

So here's to tomorrow, to more mistakes, and more successes. We'll see where everything lies later on, but for now, things are on track.

Stay out of the heat, and watch out for drop bears!
