Today has been a pretty short week for me, probably because I did not come in yesterday because I wasn't feeling well/was so tired because of mono, and therefore only worked twice this week. I'm still feeling really tired today but definitely less tired than I was feeling yesterday. I've been collecting leads all morning and only collected a total of 50, which is pretty low for me. I think it's because I am so tired and can't work as quickly as I normally do. Hopefully I will be feeling better by next week and can start collecting more leads than I have this week.
After lunch I'm probably going to be working on either CD covers for the 50 Project or logos for one of Onpoint's clients, Applied Marketing Science, Inc. I started work on the logo on Tuesday but I'm not really happy with what I have come up with so far, so I'm hoping to come up with something I like better by the end of the day.
I'm so happy it's Friday. And now that I'm in the Friday mindset, this song is suddenly stuck in my head. It's almost so bad that it's good:

Washington DC Version 2
Today Friday I realized yesterday that I have another idea about the Washington DC music cove that was left out even though I already finish the graphic for it. I thought it would be better to have two version completely different just to what could happen maybe it works out maybe it doesn't but it is definitely interesting to go in another opposite direction sometimes great things happen that way.
The central idea of this version is to play with the image of George Washington in a way that will appeal younger generation. A couple of years ago this advertising campaign from a art museum in northern Spain did a similar thing but it completely backfire there was so much outrage from the big museum financial supporters (rich people) that they have to pull every advertising piece out there immediately, personally in my opinion it wasn't a big ideal in fact I thought it kind of funny.

Last Day Here At Esente
Manta has done it again! About an hour(ish) into leads, Manta decided to kick everyone tied to Esente's IP address off from their server. I would say that was, and still is, annoying, but that would just be an understatement. As much as I dislike Manta, primarily because there is always something that goes awry with it each day, I still prefer it over Merchant Circle just because it's easier to go down the list through the businesses faster.
Yesterday, Ron did an uncanny impression of a dentist's office. First he imitated that straw they stick in your mouth to suck out the spit, then he moved on top the sounds of the drill. I was very impressed, but then again, it doesn't really take a lot to impress me. By saying this, in no way do I discount the level of skill in Ron's impression... it was still very good and spot on accurate.
So, today is my last day. I can't say that I'm too excited about this, but what's a guy to do...?
Because I'm soooo looking forward to Brooklyn in the coming week ahead, here's a tune that shan't ever be forgotten:
Beastie Boys - No Sleep Till Brooklyn
I've had a tremendously good time working here with everybody and it's been a learning experience like no other.

Already August!
I can't believe it's already August! Looking back on my time at Esente I have gained so much experience from this internship and will take what I have learned with me after I leave, which is sadly going to be next week. I think during my last week Esente will have some fun things lined up because Jayna Liniger is coming! This morning the female interns (since most males aren't interested in fashion) were asked to look over some of the outfits she planned to bring for her photo and video shoot. We all gave our opinions on her outfits and I personally can't wait to see how the outfits turn out since shopping is a little hobby of mine and I love looking at clothing.
Yesterday was the big Flamers e-mail collection day! Pete, Shayna, and I arrived at the Prudential Center ready to ask for some e-mails. I was so happy the directions my mom wrote out for me worked and I didn't get lost which was probably my biggest fear of the day. We got to wear Flamers shirts while we offered customers free coupons and pens asking if they wanted to join Flamer's e-mail list to receive over $100's worth of coupons. Shayna and I worked together and got a decent amount of e-mails, more than Pete at least (sorry Pete I had to tell everyone we won). In the end it was a great experience to be able to work with a client on a personal level and do something to help her business. I also enjoyed shopping around the mall after...again the shopping hobby. I hope the e-mails will help her out and keep customers coming to Flamers! We got to eat lunch there and the food was pretty good so I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to go back especially when we gave out coupons! The coupons were a great marketing technique to get people to sign up and come back.
Today after lunch I will be working on some short articles for New England Allergy one of the companies that we have created a website for. Other than that not sure what else will be in store for this afternoon but it has been a great week and should be an even better weekend because I'm going away with my family for my mom's birthday this weekend!
Hope everyone has a great weekend,

The Pru
On Wednesday Rebecca, Pete, and I went to the Prudential in Boston to do some on-site marketing at one of our clients locations, Flamers. Flamers is a restaurant in the food court of the Pru. They serve mostly burgers, hotdogs, sausages, chicken and fries. When we first got there we met the owner, Terri and heard a little about what they wanted us to do. We were to ask customers if they wanted to join our email list where they would receive hundreds of dollars worth of coupons for Flamers, they would also receive a coupon for free fries on their net visit and a pen on the spot. So the three of us put on our Flamers shirts and got to work.
At first we were standing behind the counter, but found it difficult to engage the customers from there so we moved to the edges of the line. This was a lot more effective because we could make conversation with the customers and we weren't in the way of the employees.
It was a little scary approaching people at first, but after the first few I got used to it. I was surprised how many people said yes, it was a lot more than I though. The rejections were still a little awkward and I vowed to never just walk by people that I see in the future doing something similar to what we were doing. We were there for two and a half hours and ended up with 30 signatures. This may not seem like a lot, but most of the people we approached were from out of town and joining the email list would not have been beneficial to them.
Over all it was a good day and afterwards we got a free lunch from Flamers, which was delicious, and we got to keep our shirts.
Today at Esente we are going to be working on one of our clients blogs and next week one of the artists Jana is going to be here. I think she is doing a photo shoot and recording some songs! Hopefully some of the interns will be able to help out with these things, I think they would be really interesting to see!

day 23 of this so called Budoucnost
The Czech word for Future is really close to the Slovak one (Budúcnosť). I wonder if they're pronounced similarly. Also, I wonder what the roots are for both languages; I may have to research that at a later date.
Anyway, yesterday afternoon I continued working on the logo from Tuesday and I got a few versions done, but I don't know if I really liked what I came up with. I would have liked to have had more time to conceptualize, but you get what you get. I then worked on some 50 project cd covers, painting and sketching away to see what I could get— which wasn't much as far as good or even finalized ideas, but it was still helpful.
This morning I started and ended with leads, but around 9:30 Ron asked a few of us (girls) to help choose out cloths for a photo shoot next week. I think we'd need to see the dresses on the girl to be able to actually pick something out, though. Even though I worked on leads for less time than usual, I got higher than my average. I think that's probably because I got some good lists, but it's still nice to see an improvement, even if it's a little late in the game; in two weeks, I'll be having my last day here and then packing up and heading out to Rochester!

50 project
So back to the 50 project
for today's work I think I can knock down Virginia I have all the
materials already to make it happen and then start a new one probably
Massachusetts or North Carolina I’m inclining for the former obviously there
won’t be a need to do research Massachusetts is the state I know the best I
still don’t know what images I will be using but because I live here using my
own photographs would be ideal.
