August 5th, 2014 marks the beginning of my last week here at Esente. It's been a rollercoaster of excitement, life lessons (learned both the easy way and sometimes the hard way), and experiences I will most certainly not forget. Reflecting on my time here, it seems so brief, but looking at what I've learned in that time, it amounts to much more. One of the challenges, and privileges, of working here is the opportunity to either waste or absorb the knowledge you're given by Ron, Laura, even the other interns. The goal in any internship is to gain experience from seniors. Take the experience your elders have, the tips and tricks they *want* to share with you, and use them to your advantage. Ron, with his two hour long discussions, his impassioned opinions, and his take-no-prisoners attitude, is someone to listen to. Those two hour discussions are rife with knowledge, strategy, and years of experience and he wants to speak to all of us for one reason: to share his knowledge. By tapping into those experiences, we gain a piece of his knowledge, and can take that with us to the next job, and the next, and the next.

This is the overall goal of any internship, but it is one of the uniquely strong points of this specific internship. For those of you reading this as a prospective intern, or if your a past intern, take this advice to heart, my hope it that it will serve you well.

1 down, 2 to go,
Mike D
Design Intern
