Not much to say really, here's a shot of what I'm working on.

day 25 of this so called Futuro

Of course, the Italian word for "Future" is the same as the Spanish word. They're incredibly similar languages; so similar, in fact, that some language people say that they could have started off as dialects of the same language (besides Latin, seeing as they both are romantic languages and obviously derive from Latin).

Yesterday I updated the BizBuzz blog as per usual on Tuesdays, and then edited pictures from the video shoot on Monday. I ended up taking 153 pictures (more like 200 with the ones I didn't delete) and editing 41. The lighting was weird, and it still shows in the finals, but I was able to edit them so that everything that needed to be was discernible. I think it's fine that the pictures look contrasty, though, because that's how it was when we were actually in the room; everything that wasn't between the two main lights was pretty dim. Anyway, it felt good to be back editing pictures because this whole school year I took photo classes and I was constantly either in the dark room or on my computer editing photos.

This morning, back to leads. My first list went really well, but the second list I got barely had anything. I went through 7 pages and only got 11 leads. There weren't any incredibly ugly sites, though, so that was nice.

I can't wait for next week! I don't want my time to be done here at Esente, but I'm excited for the shoot I'm going to next Thursday (which is my last day).

Photo Shoot

Tuesday at Esente instead of a normal day at the office Hanna, Rebecca, Pete and I went on a photo shoot with Ron, Laura, Jenny, and Jayna (one of the artists Ron represents). It was an extremely long day to say the least. It was fun to watch the pictures being taken but it was kind of far, but it was definitely something that I'm glad I got to be a part of.

I'm sad to say that Tuesday the 13th will be my last day at Esente. After today there are only two days left here and I'm going to try to continue learning as much as I can before I have to go!

Virginia cover cd

The Virginia cd cover is coming along the way I expected I have the right composition the materials for the collage seems perfect and I think they represent the state very well (long strips of beaches, many marinas and the incredible sunset sky). For the general color I thought to uses cool one over warm just because it makes the Virginia look like a mild weather place rather than extremely hot and humid. I still haven’t found the right typography for Virginia I would say it is the most difficult part for me to figure it out because I know how Typography can help so much.

Work on the animation project is going well. I like how it is turning out so far, and the pace I'm going a is pretty good. It's kind of weird to think about only having a few weeks left here now though, so I'll have to make sure it is done by then.

We've had a few logo projects here that I think has been good experience for me. It's given me the chance to work under pressure with a pretty short time limit as well as doing a different kind of art aside from just pure illustration.

Internship Almost Over

It is getting close to the end of my internship here at Esente Music Group. Next Wednesday is my last day so I have another 4 days after today. The experience has been interesting and helpful and has introduced me to a bunch of cool people. The next step for me is to go out into the real world and get a real job. 

Today my internet marketing research was slightly frustrating because I encountered several pages worth of useless/repeated companies on Merchant Circle. After all was said and done, I managed to generate 53 leads which isn't that far below my average. 

Most of the interns went to a photo shoot today with our client Jayna. I wish I could have gone because that is more relevant to music business than almost everything that I've done in the office. Hopefully in the remaining week I can go to something outside of the building. The amount of work that needs to be done is dwindling since most of the interns are leaving next week. Today I will be leaving early to go to the eye doctor. You stay classy Esente Interns.

John Mayer kind-of-day

     Today has been a pretty average day at Esente. I have been listening to John Mayer all morning, which always puts me in a good mood. I have also been collecting leads for both West Bridgewater and Fall River. When Manta decided to stop working (which happens quite frequently), I started collecting leads for Fall River using Merchant Circle. I prefer Manta over Merchant Circle, mostly because Manta alphabetizes all of its businesses, which makes things a lot easier. Merchant Circle is also annoying because it constantly lists businesses more than once in each list, and that is frustrating because I can never remember if I have already looked up that business or not. Other than the fact that Manta decided to stop working, I had a pretty average day. I ended up collecting 60 leads which is about average for me.
     After lunch I am most likely going to be designing CD covers for the 50 Project as well as continue working on my CD cover for the San Francisco Rockers Against Bullying campaign. Since I had not worked with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for a while before interning here at Esente, I have definitely refreshed my memory and learned a lot about each program. It's fun to play around with each program and discover new things you can do with it that you didn't already know about. Every day I am learning something new, which is really exciting because I love learning new things.
