First Day!

Hi my name is Dillon Healy. I am going into my junior year at UNH, this summer I am a PR intern at esente music group. Today we worked on new posters to promote drunk driving awareness. I am in the UNH business school majoring in management and marketing. I plan on going into music management, A&R, and marketing with my degree. In my free time I produce music, golf, and manage a rock artist.

Day two

Today we finished up the fire chief lists. Then we got to work on posters for the drunk driving campaign. I created a poster that was Ron really enjoyed and it was shown as an example to everyone.  Here is the poster so far:

Poster Designs

Today was mostly a day where we got to work on our posters. We did a small critique with Danielles poster. This was interesting to see how everyone views the work differently. We also finished finding fire chiefs in New Hampshire. We have a full contacts list that will allow us to contact and ask if they would be interested in using the Floor Plan. I mostly worked on designing my Russian Roulette poster but am still working on the wording. Here is the on going design.

Ah, Tuesday. Today all the interns, PR and GD combined forces and completed the list of fire chiefs for the New Hampshire section of Floorplan. Both sets of interns devoted the second half of our day to the creation of our drunk driving prevention posters. There are plans to continue the CD project tomorrow, and critiques of our posters soon thereafter.

Also, here's the current poster I am working on. A better headline TBD as soon as I get more clever or a PR helps me out...

Danielle Labrecque_First Day

My name is Danielle and I am from Methuen. I am going into my senior year at UMass Lowell and will be graduating spring 2015. I originally got into graphic design because my Dad is in the same field and art has always been something I've enjoyed. I use Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. I love to design! This semester I took an animation class for the first time and it was the most exciting class I've taken so far. I hope to do projects in the future that have animations in it because I would really like to expand my skills in Flash. Today was my first day of my inernship and from the looks of things I feel I will be able to expand my portfolio. Overall I am very excited for what's to come this summer!

Something old,something new

With a new week came new projects with a familiar vibe. Similar to researching the bands for the CD campaign, the interns researched County Fire Chiefs for OnPointe's project, Floorplan. This app would allow users to create a profile about their house and any special needs. In case of emergency the firemen would use Floorplan to see the floor plan of the house as well as any potential threats. We also continued work on our drunk driving awareness posters. It was great to get back to get a flavor of a new project, as well as get back to the art side of things! Tomorrow we pick back up with the CDs, moving to the next step of contacting the  bands.

Floor Plan progress

Today we learned about the Floor Plan project. This is an amazing idea that I think has the potential to be a nation wide application. The Floor Plan application is for fire fighters emergency use only. Families will be able to submit a floor plan of their house that will show where the kids are, the cars are, if there is anyone in the house with disabilities, if there are pets that could harm the fire fighters, etc. This information will make it easier to get in and out faster, it will also allow everyone to be accounted for. This project is awesome and our assignment today was to find contact information for fire departments. That way we can contact the chiefs to offer them the use of the software. Other than that I am working on my posters. More interns have showed up so the space is getting smaller but the workload is thinning which is good!
