Esente PR Intern Update

Today has been a typical Monday as an Esente public relations intern. I began my day collecting local business contact information for OnPoint Media to send website design requests to, which is a very important aspect of my internship with Esente. Additionally, the composition of my media list is coming along quite well. I have progressed into the category of college newspapers for the state of New York and have had significantly more arts and entertainment editors listed on the websites in this category. This give us better chances of getting a press release published because it shows that the particular newspaper will publish stories on the arts, and after all, we will be sending press releases on a music client. Hopefully, my collection of art editors will continue and our chances of getting a press release published will increase.

More updates coming soon,

what are the interns doing?

So far today, I have been working on leads for the Boston Agriculture business portion of the mailing list for the artists that Esente promotes. I have started working on the second of three posters for the anti-bullying project, and worked on the media list for ipswich MA. My goal for today is to tackle at least 20 leads, to finish the second bullying poster, and to possibly start work on the third.

Getting into the swing of things

Over my second week here at Esente, I further learned how to research and develop lead lists for businesses on the north shore through Manta.com. I also began researching and developing a media contact list for newspapers in the state of Vermont for Onpoint media using USNPL.com. Both lists are being created in Google docs spreadsheets.

I also finished up the designs for my anti-bullying posters and began collecting images and ideas for my next project, three more posters advocating drunk driving awareness and prevention. The refined anti-bullying posters can be seen below.

Last time, I worked more on the leads list, learning more about how to tell right off if a lead is going to be good or not.  We also had an intensive meeting with Ron about future plans, and the power of our own will - "Impose your will! Make it happen!"  One of the best quotes to live by that I have heard, thanks Ron!
I also worked more on increasing my own web presence, updating my Behance portfolio as well as creating my own blog to get my name out there in more places.

The Buzz On Interning

Other than working diligently on leads, our focus today being Boston, I'll be writing for the Buzz on Bullying Blog. The Buzz on Bullying is all about bullying and how we can end i,t featuring some words by Becca Levy. There's a video of the week and many stories across the country that people can relate to. The other blog as a PR intern I will be working on is Onpoint's website. I love writing and knowing what I do helps my internship as well as gives me more experience. The more the merrier.

First of Week Update

Today when I came to Esente, I began working on the Massachusetts state media list. I have only begun to scratch the surface with the media contacts for this list, but I'm making headway. I've been looking for editors, artists, etc. who they will eventually contact in order to promote the anti-bullying message across the country. I worked on this for about 45 minutes when I first walked in.

I then switched from the media list to conducting more Internet research for OnPoint Media. Today I have been researching various "Consumer Electronics/Appliances Companies throughout Boston. The list of potential companies is just under 150. I've gone through about 50 companies so far, but haven't been able to find all vital information in order to reach out to these companies. While I'm still working on this new list, I have gathered about 20 so far today.
