Goodbye Esente

Its been real Esente. The last day here was a day filled with ice cream, emotions and calf sculptures. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Last Day Sad Day

Today is my last day at Esente!!!!!! It is crazy to believe today is the end. I appreciate everything I have learned here, which I will take with me forever! I hope to stay in touch and wish the best for the company! Will miss you all!

Ron Potter

Today we filmed a video about the internship to show people who want to Intern with Esente.  It was interesting because I really do not like being in front of a camera but I did it anyway.  We had a few pretty funny moments and I can't wait to watch the blooper reel.  We also went over to Ron's place again and we saw pictures of him where he looks like Harry Potter.  I also did more CD covers for Florida, Texas, California, and Washington if we end up doing a 12 pack campaign in those states.

Just another day

Today was an information session at Esente. Some of the veteran interns passed down all we could to the new fall interns. Later in the day we all helped answer questions for a video being made to show other interns how great Esente is. Unfortunately it is coming to an end, Danielle left today and some big names leaving tomorrow as well. At least we have the memories.
-Dillon

New things for days

Today we started out with a short meeting with Ron, and then we went upstairs in order to talk to the people who've been here for longer so that they could tell us what has to be done in the future, and what we are going to be expected to do. After the meeting, I finished organizing all of the newspaper sources into a word document, and then we did a sort of q and a infront of a camera for any new interns who will be joining us. All in all, it was a good day.

Aaaaaaand Cut.

Wednesday July 30th: the beginning of the end. At this point in the summer, with college semesters looming on the horizon, the interns begin to say their goodbyes. As of today we are losing Danielle, although she will be returning within a month or so to start her job here (a bright light at the end of the tunnel for all of you out there wondering if internships net you jobs), but tomorrow will be the last day for a stunning 3 of our interns: Melissa, Stephen, and Marielle. As Ron has said many times, Melissa and Stephen were the "quarterbacks" of this project, having been here since late may. Some would even call them the OG's of the 12 pack of life. Either way, I call them colleagues, friends, and extremely talented people I will always cherish working with.

As a small token of their departure Ron had Ben and myself do some video interviews with each intern, having them describe their experience (somewhat like a certain blog you may be reading...), their thoughts and memories from the summer, and general advice they may wish to pass on to future interns. It was a day for reflection, but also for looking forwards. Discussing what we've done here, what we've accomplished, and how far we've come also gives you a glimpse into how far we can still go. What this internship will be valued at in our future when we step out into the big bright world looking for jobs, careers, families, pensions, car payments, and our lives. The skills we sharpened, the knowledge we gained, the experiences we shared, all from this time in our lives will have a positive effect on us down the road, or at least that's what we all hope, collectively, and individually. My hope is that every single one of us is right.

To the long road ahead and the bright future it leads to.

"Oh wait..we are filming?"

We are still waiting for responses which is always rough. Hopefully, the project will pick up soon as we enter the end of summer and beginning of fall. The fall interns will really be able to get into making the media happen as the summer interns have left the foundation behind! Mainly, we spent out day making videos, mine will probably we not good enough to put up :(. However, there were plenty of great ones and I think Ron will be happy with the material, specially the funny ones! I hope to see it on the website soon!!!!

"Fixing things around the office"

I can't believe this is my second to last day at Esente! Looking back makes me realize how much time I spent here and how much I learned. It also makes me appreciative and grateful for all the amazing people I met along the way. Today was comical, we all went upstairs and had a big meeting about how everything works and where the fall interns will pick up on the project. We also got to make a intern video and lets just say there's going to be a lot of cutting and bloopers LOL. All in all its been a great week to end this internship

See ya tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the Highlight of My Day

Today, the intern room was packed to the brim. With all the interns here, we were able to film ourselves answering questions about the internship. It was difficult to speak on the spot but I think the video may turn out well. Besides filming, we checked the emails and sadly found no responses from the media outlets. Hopefully after the summer interns leave, the project will pick up.
-Stephen, PR Intern

Changing of the Guard

It's getting to that point, where soon all of the summer interns will be returning back to school and new faces will be coming in the fall. We spent some time today setting up the camera for some faux interviews done by all the summer interns to make clips of them answering questions about what it's like to work at Esente. It was interesting to see what everyone thought, honestly, about their time here.

Later, Stephen, Melissa, Dillon, and Mike all sat down with Angela and I to chat about things here so we could run the show when they all leave. We got to take some notes in order to be fully prepared to help guide the new fall interns as well as help run the 12 Pack of Life project, among other things. I wish I could've spent more time with all the summer interns, two weeks wasn't enough. They are  diverse group with different backgrounds and interests but all come together to form something great.

We also finished up sending out a last group of emails to tv stations trying to get Jayna more press.

Until next time,

Taco Tuesday

I started the day off by writing a press release to send to news stations around the north east. I had trouble converting the press release we sent out to newspapers to fit television. I've definitely learned a lot about trying to sell a story to the media, however. The group of interns sent out the emails in less than ten minutes after we had our meeting. Tomorrow, me and a few of the other interns are tasked with explaining the internship to the new interns.
-Stephen, PR Intern

Controversy attracts attention AKA No news is Bad News

Before getting into an explanation of today's title I figured I'd give a quick run down of today's projects. We started the day by creating a press release asking for television news coverage. After writing a first draft ourselves, we brought it to Ron and worked with him to edit and improve it. After finishing the release we divided up to start mailing it to press contacts by state. The final task for the day was to update media collections and continue to follow through with band correspondences.

As for the aforementioned title explanation: we spent a good deal of today discussing the concept of PR, specifically in regards to bad press vs. good press. Take for example the artist Rihanna: after her fight with then boyfriend Chris Brown, both parties involved recieved massive boosts to their public influence. While Rihanna was painted as the victim and recieved the sympathy of the masses, Mr. Brown was vilified (rightfully so) but *still* had his name plastered over papers and american TV's for weeks. In the long run, when you consider the idea of PR as the goal of increasing the *attention* given to the target, both Rihanna and Chris Brown gained attention. Now whether that increased their CD sales or ticket sales, merchandising, etc... is another matter, but in the long run, it keeps both of them in the spotlight for that much longer.

Overall it was a very thought provoking conversation. One that begs the questions: Is there such a thing as bad press? I suppose its all in the eye of the public.

Keep calm and wander on,

"One Liberal A Day"

Today we continued our campaign to get Jayna on more news stations through 12 Pack of Life. We worked on and sent out a new press release to television stations in our 11 cities/states. The highlight of our day came after our Taco Tuesday adventure downstairs, when Ron came in for his meeting. We covered a wide array of topics from music, religion, to the internship itself. I still think Ron should start a podcast or web series with his rants. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when Stephen is going to pass the baton to me and Angela.

Until next time,

Taco Tuesdays

After the experience, I would have to say that the tacos are the best thing at this internship. If there is anything you do the whole time you are here, it is to try La Victoria. Today we began sending the press releases to television stations! This is very exciting because I'm hoping to see this project on the television and getting some major national attention. We also had a nice conversation with Ron. While the topics of conversation ranged, Ron's delivery for sure did not. Hence, another great thing of this internship is definitely conversations with Ron! This is a sad week since it's my last! However, it has been great!

Can't come today, I have an infectious disease

Today, I started out by looking at all of the different emails for the different states, to see if anything new had come. From there, I wrote a draft of the finalized email that needs to be sent out to the bands, and then I worked to organize the newspaper sources. It was a productive day, and at the end of it Ron told us some funny stories for a while and told us the reason why he tells us stories.

Buckets O' Bleach

This is my first blog post this week due to the power outage yesterday morning. This morning we started off by looking to see if there were any more press releases published since last week. After going through those we wrote a press release to send to all of the t.v. stations in each of the twelve areas we are working with to ask them if they would put Jayna on the news to promote our project and her music. The end of the day was filled with stories from Ron. I enjoyed his story about the buckets of bleach dumped out his window.

The Count of Esente Christo

Today was a day of checking emails and working on posters. I found that we had a band from Vermont write us because they wanted to be on the digital cd. They informed us that they heard about 12 pack through their local paper. This tells us that our articles are working.

Stay classy esente

Taco Tuesday!

Today all the interns went to the Mexican place downstairs for lunch! For any of you future interns reading this the chicken tacos and the salad are great! Aside from that we are continuing to wrap up all the remaining parts of the CD project. We began sending out the final press releases to the television stations and are preparing the other interns on what to do when we leave. We also had a very long meeting with ron about politics, the government, and celebrities. It was all entertaining non the less

Until next time!

One more day...

Today we finished all the minor details on the Jerry Robito for Sheriff website. Pretty soon it will be live!!! It's going to be the first website that I basically designed to become live. We had a nice long meeting talking about the important issues, which wrapped up the day. I can't believe how fast this internship flew by.

Taco Thursday

After sending out the rest of the press releases, we got down to work commenting on country music blogs. Our goal was to help promote Jayna as well as the 12 Pack Of Life campaign. I definitely know more about whats going on in the world of country currently. I also responded to emails about the press release. It was interesting to sit in on Rons phone call. I was able to see what it takes to inform the media about your project.
-Stephen, PR Intern

The Spirits

Today at Esente we finished up sending our emails to the rest of the newspapers. This third press release will hopefully bring in some more publicity for the project because newspapers can see that other articles have already been published about 12 pack of life. After the emails we spent our day blogging to promote Jayna on different blogs throughout the internet. We ended the day with an insightful meeting in Ron's office.
-Dillon

thursday

Today we finished up sending out the press releases to all the newspapers and magazines in the surrounding areas of each of the confirmed bands that we have so far. Once we got that out of the way we did some promoting for Jayna and the stop drunk driving now campaign. For Jayna, we went on some of the popular country music blogs, and commented on numerous posts asking people to check out Jayna's facebook page. For the stop drunk driving now campaign we lefts comments on other drunk driving prevention groups telling them about our campaign. Our comments should help us get some more viewers to our pages and hopefully they will give us some support.

Phone calls and goodbyes

We were able to talk to an editor today from Rhode Island that manages a couple different newspapers, the conversation was positive, which is a great sign. We have been getting responses which is exciting because ou method is working. I'm hoping to have a bunch of emails from newspaper to read next week. Also, the days are soon coming to an end! Next week or the week after is going to be my last day, crazy how time flew! I'm grateful for all I've been learning from Esente and hope to take these lessons with me in the future!

Steve said no theme today -_-

This is my second to last week at Esente! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. We are beginning to wrap up the remaining parts of what we can do for the CD project and then the fall interns will pick it up from there. We also sent out another set of press releases to all the news papers and magazines and called a few people who had an remaining questions about the project. After lunch I also got called back to do more voice overs for the promotional video we are putting on the website. All in all not a bad day! Enjoy the weekend :)

Lead The Way

Another exciting day at the office. Today I spent the beginning half of my day finishing up and sending out new press releases to New Jersey and Washington D.C. hoping to gain some more exposure for Jayna and for the 12 Pack of Life campaign. A few more bites today, including some new Rhode Island leads.

Afterwards, we spent time researching and commenting on country music websites and blogs trying to stir interest in Jayna by associating her and her website with other popular country artist's songs, videos, and news. Hopefully, our efforts will be recognized by generating more traffic to Jayna's Facebook fan page.

Later we had a meeting with Ron, listening in on him call the Rhode Island lead that we got today at a local newspaper there. It was beneficial to hear him wheeling and dealing on the phone, talking up Jayna and the 12 Pack of Life project. I know I'm still new to the group, but it must be a great feeling for the other interns to see the hard work they've been doing all summer paying off in small ways here and there paving the way for bigger steps in the coming months. Through going through all the steps of trying to create wedges and a platform for Jayna to stand on, I am already starting to learn and grasp the ideas and methods that would make someone successful in running a winning marketing and public relations campaign.

I'm looking forward to what the next week has to offer here at Esente.

Until then...

12 pack of life for days

Today was a pretty productive day. We started out by brainstorming what quotes we could use in the different news articles that have been published about "12 pack of life", and then wrote an article that used those quotes so that we could send it to different newspapers across our designated states. We then worked together on an email that we could send out to the newspapers. I learned a bit more about how the industry works, and understood that it rarely happens all at once for any artist. All in all, it was a good day to have a good day and work for a good cause.

-Akshay D.

Looking for press

Today was a busy day filled with press releases and emails. I started off the day preparing a press release to be sent to the newspapers that have not published our story. We took what we had from the first press release and added in the publicity we've gotten so far for more credibility. After finishing the that, the interns worked together to write a note before the press release asking for help with the project. Hopefully, the email will help us get more stories in the newspaper. I finished the day off by sending the press release out which took no time at all. It was nice to have a packed day of work.
-Stephen, PR Intern

Esente and the dragon

Today we began to dig into the bullying posters which allowed us to shift our creativity from the drunk driving campaign to something new!

Live From Esente

Today the arctic lounge had a lot going on. We re-wrote our third press release to the newspapers. This time we made a point of mentioning the other articles that had been published for 12 pack of life. Hopefully other newspapers will realize the story is already being run by other papers and this will attract more publicity. After adding a short email to the press release we started sending out emails. I got about 60 done, tomorrow I will finish the rest. A very productive day for the project.

-Dillon

Flag Day

Today we finally started the anti-bullying portion of this internship.  The design interns were tasked with making anti-bullying posters.  I personally found the logos for all of the newspapers that have printed our press releases.  I also decided to continue working with states that we are using for the next CD project.  I focused on state flags today and made each state that we are doing with the first letter as the state flag and also a map of the US with every state's outline filled in with the state flag.  I am not sure how or if we are going to use either of these projects that I did but i found it fun to make.

-Matt Bell

P.S. the state with the best flag is Maryland

When To Paint With a Small Brush

Day two has come and gone, after an exciting first day full of Jayna, the beach, and pizza (no but really I ate too much pizza) today we tackled some more work towards expanding the 12 Pack of Life project. We spent most of the day researching for newspapers that have run with our story and sent out emails to try and use our press that we have received, to our advantage. Looking forward to see what comes in tomorrow and what nuggets of knowledge Ron can bestow upon us.

Day 24

After the smoke cleared from our exciting day with Jayna it was back to business as usual today. I got started on making some bullying prevention posters, which are pretty similar to the drunk driving posters we were assigned at the beginning of the internship. Who I Be

My name's Brenden Groom, I'm the newest member of the Esente Intern team. I'm a graduate of Suffolk University with a major in English and a minor in Creative Writing. I grew up in a small city just north of Boston. Other than interning here, I am a bartender in Burlington.  I'm a huge nerd. I love all music, with my favorite genre being rap. I have a cat.

Today we spent some time with Ron and Jayna Lininger talking about Esente, her career, and the music business. It's always interesting to hear both sides of music, the artist's take and the business side. Afterwards we spent most of the day researching drunk driving and bullying news stories to blog about. I'm looking forward to the experiences and skills I will gain from my time here at Esesnte, I hope you're looking forward to having me!

To the esente

Today we went to the beach after a day of pizza and Q&A with Jayna. I can honestly say this has been the best day, at any job, I've had.

Peace,

Beaaach

Today we finally got to meet Jayna and ask some questions. We had a long meeting with Ron and Jayna where we learned about how they met and started working together. It was interesting to see a musicians view of the music industry. After the meeting, I wrote up some statistics for Ron and Jayna to use. The other PR Interns did some research and summarized articles for the blog. At lunch, Ron got the office pizza and we went to the beach to take pictures. After a long walk, we came back to the office to bid farewell to our fellow intern, Ryan. Overall it was a pretty interesting day.
-Stephen, PR Intern

Today, we worked on a lot of bullying and drunk driving blog posts and also had a q and a with Jayna. Reading the articles about bullying and drunk driving surprised me because there are new articles in the news every few hours about some incident that happened. I also got to learn a little bit more about the music industry and how it works, and then we got pizza and went to the beach for pictures. After that we just walked around and went and sat near the swings, and then tried to get icecream at a shop nearby. No one got icecream because the shop was sketchy and strangely humid, but I guess it's the thought that counts.

-Akshay

We are a Wandering Group of Diverse Friends

Today is my last day at Esente Music Group. Here I have learned about the music industry, public relations, marketing, and working in groups in the real work environment. Things I never expected to learn came from this internship. Things that retain to my line of work and things off the topic as well. I had a great experience and will miss coming here. My last day was great we had pizza and went to the beach. Jayna was also here another day. We asked her questions about her career and self. Getting to talk with Jayna was exciting because we have been doing work for her all summer long. Now we have the face to the name and even got to hang out. Esente was awesome and recommend it to anyone looking for an internship. You will not only learn about your field in graphic design or public relations but you will learn everyday skills with problem solving, time management, the music business, and random things that will help you in the long run.

Another day at the office

Today at esente local legend Jayna came in to meet all the interns. We spent the day asking her questions and getting to know the artist we have been promoting all summer. Today was also pizza and beach day so there was no fooling around. After eating and taking pictures at the beach we said goodbye to fellow intern Ryan who is the first to leave for the summer. It was a great day to be an esente intern.
-Dillon

Jayna came in today! Woohoo! It was such a cool experience to meet her. We even took pictures with her! We have been working for so long on the 12 pack of life project that it's awesome to finally meet our spokesperson and client! Ryan is leaving the diverse clique today, hence, we had a pizza and beach celebration day!

Beach and Pizza Day

Today was not your typical day at the office. We met with Jayna and got to ask her some questions. Also Ron bought us pizza and we took a walk to the beach. What a good day. And I also made a few ads for Jayna's website to promote her TV interview that she did. Here is the ad I came up with:

pizza day

Today was pizza day in the office. We ordered ten pizzas and ate lunch with Jayna. Jayna answered all our questions as we arrived earlier this morning, it was nice to meet who we were all working on this summer. After we concluded pizza day, we all took pictures with Jayna and then went to the beach. It was a nice day in the office between all of the pizza and the beach.

Jack
PR Intern

Life's a beach, just don't be shellfish.

Jayna came in today to meet with us, and sit down to do a mini interview of sorts with us. We had previously submitted questions to her about her career, her mindset, etc... and she took the time to answer those questions, round-table style, with us today. My personal question to her was about her songwriting. What inspires her, what techniques she uses to write material, etc...  It was great to get her insight on her music, and what she really enjoys about her craft. As a musician, I truly appreciated the chat.

Other than that, we worked on some more facebook banners for the 12 Pack campaign. We'll see what they get used for, or how they are changed per Ron's requests, but for now they're looking pretty good.

We also we're lucky enough to do a couple quick photo shoots, and have pizza and beach day! Overall a great day.

Ryan's last day was today. He's the first of the design interns to go, and it'll be a bummer to lose him. Best of luck to you and we'll see you on taco thursdays.

The New Kid

I'm the newest intern at Esente. I am an engineering major at Purdue University, and I come from Lexington Massachusetts. The reason I wanted to intern for Esente is because it would provide me with experience and allow me to understand a breadth of different topics apart from engineering like music and art. I also like that I'm interning for a company that takes a stand against prevalent issues such as drunk driving and bullying. Today, I was trying to find newspapers and radio stations near the hometowns of different artists, and I also wrote blog posts about bullying and drunk driving.

-Akshay

Esente of the d'Urbervilles

Today was a day of photo shoots and cover photos. Today I was a photographer at our Jayna Lininger photo shoot. The highlight of the whole shoot, was taking the perfect photo of Rons toned calf muscles! Jayna seems quite lovely and it'll be nice having her here tomorrow.

Cheers folks!

Mondays

Mondays are pretty dead for PR interns, but we gained a new intern today. We began the day by sending emails to all of the bands that have been included in the press releases that have been published so far. After that we wrote a couple of blogs for the bullying and the drunk driving awareness blogs. The rest of the day was filled with compiling media lists for all of the confirmed musicians that we have so far. Tomorrow will be very busy with all of the things going on with Jayna.

Jack
PR Intern

7 days left (3.5 weeks)

So today the design interns were tasked with making facebook cover photos for all of the confirmed bands.  I worked on Massachusetts and Washington D.C.  We were supposed to use the images that the bands sent us.  Those images were not all great quality however I seemed to get fairly lucky with the states that I had.

- Matt Bell

Banner Factory

Today we had our first visit with our main artist, Jayna Lininger. She had a photo shoot with our main ad team early in the day, so the meeting only lasted a few minutes, but we got to meet her, chat a little, etc... and we will have a more in-depth interview with her tomorrow.

Other than that, because mostly design interns were present today, we were assigned to design web banners for our 12 pack artists. After creating a basic template to base each banner off of, we split off to each take a state, until all of them were completed. In all, there were probably 40-50 banners made today, with more to go tomorrow. Overall, a somewhat simple, but entertaining task. Especially working with the artists photos was interesting.

Tomorrow we'll go over the Jayna interview and see what else the day presents!

Till tomorrow sports fans,

Time for Timeline

Creating facebook timeline cover photos was todays task. We designed cover photos for each of the bands facebook page. These cover photos show a picture of the band, the 12 pack logo, the album cover, and some info about the bands song on the cd. We created a template and dropped in pictures for the cover photos. This was we could get the task done in one day and send them out tomorrow.

Ryan, GD Intern

2 Weeks Left...

Today we created Facebook banners for each individual bands/artists who will be featured on the CDs. Designing a banner is more difficult than it sounds, because you have limited amount of space for all the info you need to be shown. Once we figured out some descent layouts that's when it all started to come together and we flew through the rest of the states. Here are a few banners I created:

$$$

It was a quiet day in the intern office. We got a new intern today which kept things interesting. We spent our time checking for new articles published by the newspapers. Then we updated all the emails and drop box folders. We currently have around 60 confirmed bands with their materials in. The craigslist ads did not get a very positive response but the articles from the press releases are starting to flow in. We are making good progress as always.

Ciao Esente

July 17, 2014 : Visited the location for Janya's music video shoot. Nice drive. Researched through Esente's sites. Learned the details of the project, updated band info., learned the email systems. Asked some questions & listened to app. ideas that would work as application for bringing those of relevant interest together.

Pizza Day is on the Horizon

Today we started off by sending thank you emails to all of the newspapers that have published our press releases throughout this week. After the thank you emails we checked all of the emails by state to see which confirmed bands have not sent us all of their information and to see if any new bands have responded. We put all of the material into the drop box and sent emails to the bands that have not sent all of their information. This was a very productive week for the interns, and next week should be another one with Jayna coming on Monday. Pizza day is also another thing to look forward to next week.

Jack
PR Intern

Ahhh tony your pie is ready

Today was fast moving at Esente! We started off the day checking the emails and making sure all the drop box information was updated. I got the states of Connecticut, Vermont, and Mass which all have a lot of bands. We also got news that a TV stations whats to do a interview with one of the band we are working with which was exciting! For the rest of the day we had a meeting with Ron and continued to google and check to see if we got any more publicity in the different areas. Ron also said we could have PIZZA DAY next week!

Untill next time es-enters!
-Melissa

Mama mia! That's a spicy press release...

For the last day of this week, the interns and I worked on shoring up our PR efforts for the 12 Pack project. One of the first things we did was to do an in-depth search of the web for any papers or circulars that published our press release. We were in luck that we found it on a good deal of websites and in papers! The next step was to write short, but appreciative thank you letters to those papers, in an effort to maintain a good relationship with them for future use. We were lucky in that 1 of the papers we spoke to is interested in some follow up questions later on in the project. That is something I will most certainly keep in the back of my mind for future reference.

The other major project of the day was one of some tedium, but of incredible importance. We were tasked with collecting and organizing all the media that participating bands had emailed to us over the past month or so. As there are 12 states, and there were only 5 interns today, we each had to take a few states and just buckle down to get it done. Although it was a labor intensive project, in the end we were able to get everything packaged up neat and tidy which will be very important when we need to access this media quickly later on!

Overall a good exercise in project management and PR tactics today, hopefully with many more to come.

Buon Dia and see you all later!

Wuthering Esente

Today was a day of rain, Mexican food, and design with a dash of follow up emails. We also found out that we are going to ask Jayna questions on Monday. I came of with the deepest question ever "why music?"

Thats all folks!

One step behind ... I blame the Rain

So today we worked on our drunk driving prevention posters in the morning.  Later, after lunch Ben and I sent the second round of press release emails to newspapers and magazines in our area.  I did the Washington DC area using my fake last name.

-Matt "Freeman" Bell

It's Raining Men ... Well, Interns

Today we pushed out emails to different sources of media, like newspapers and radio, in different states. We are doing a lot of contacting and reaching out to raise money and awareness for the project. So far, I think we are doing really well. We sent out hundreds of emails so I'm hoping for some good responses.

Today we made it rain by sending out so many emails. I got the biggest state which is Upstate New York so it kept me occupied for the majority of the time. I am excited to meet Jayna next week and am trying to be a runner for her video shoot! Try and stay dry folks

I Can See Clearly Now the Rain is Gone (Not)

Today I wrote the second press release to be sent out. After emailing it back and forth with Ron, I came up with a final draft and we started sending it out. We also found some more articles published in newspapers across the northeast. I won't be here tomorrow but the interns will continue sending press releases out.

Day 21

I have been working on a website for someone running for sheriff in Massachusetts. I had the homepage finished and today I worked on the rest of the site. It was difficult finding the images I needed, but once I find some everything fell into place. His old site was outdated and incomplete, so I had to vamp it up. Here are just two of the six pages for the site:

Its a little Drizzy, expect a Lil Wayne.

My rainy day at Esente was centered around making Delaware Country cd cover. This will be used on the next seasons cd project. I used a stock photo of the Delaware River for the background. I hand drew the text to give it a real rustic and country feel. Other than that I send out the second batch of press releases to New Jersey's hardcopy media.

When taking pictures don't forget to turn on the Flash. Flood.

While sitting in the office today, the table began thundering with the sound of vibrating, buzzing phones. It turns out that the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the town of Beverly. Not only is this an uncommon occurence in this area, but combined with the constant downpouring and wind, the view out our windows was not something we enjoyed. Dampened spirits or not, we soldiered on in the name of Esente and focused the day on perfecting the second in a series of press releases for the 12 pack campaign.

Putting our heads together, we worked to create content that talked about the bands involved in the project, with the caveat that the content had to be editable for each region we sent it out to. Compiling quotes from Laura, our project manager, and Jayna, our main musician, was another task put on our plate. Using quotes from both major parties will help to add punch to the press packets.

We spent the remainder of the day sending out the aforementioned press releases to collected media contacts and worked on tailoring each email to their respective states. Overall, another great experience in marketing and PR work, hopefully to prove useful in the future.

That's all for today readers, but stay dry, stay safe, and don't forget to wear your raincoat!

Why does Snoop Dogg need an umbrella? Fo' Drizzle

Today at esente we started the day by researching our press releases. I didn't find any new articles posted for my states. Later in the day we perfected the second press release. We sent this release to all of the newspaper and magazine contacts that we gathered. Hopefully the second time around we will see some better results. Over all we had a productive day and learned a lot about each other as interns.

Icons, Icons, Icons!

On this humid summer tuesday, the design interns were drafted to support the main design team with a website project called Floorplan. Out task was to create dozens of icons of furniture and household items for a future use. Using adobe illustrator, we spent the day creating icons such as sofas, desks, chairs, tables, baths, sinks, and many others. Although this sounds like it would be a somewhat tedious task, it was in fact an excellent opportunity to not only practice, but *showcase* our design skills. It is these kinds of tasks we can expect to do as professional designers, and to have the chance to practice this in a real life situation is something I personally, cherish.

On another, sadder, note, we found out today that one of the original interns, our friend Zack, said goodbye to the program over the weekend. Having been one of the original PR interns that started the 12 Pack project, it will be a loss for us, not only with his knowledge, but his personality too. All we can do now is look forward and try to pick up where he left off. Hopefully we'll get a new batch of interns soon to help out!

Adios Zack, stay frosty.
